Udupi, May 8: Renowned senior Naadaswara player Alevoor Bogra Sherigar passed away on May 8, due to a brief illness.

Alevooru Bogra Sherigar was famous as a veteran Naadswara player in countless temples, Garodi, Daivasthanas, and Nagaradhana. He was a rare artiste who practiced the art of Naadaswara with a spirit of dedication.

Bogra Sherigar was the one who created an innumerable group of students by imparting this knowledge to his sons, relatives, and countless others.

He was felicitated by various awards from several organizations, including Udupi District Rajyaotsava Award. He is survived by sons and a daughter, including the famous Naadaswara player Udaya Sherigar.
