Operation Sindoor: Flights from Bengaluru to 5 states cancelled due to heightened security

Bengaluru, May 7: In a retaliatory strike following the militant attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Army launched a missile offensive on militant bases in Pakistan during the early hours of Wednesday under “Operation Sindoor.”

In the wake of this airstrike, the Centre has suspended air travel across various parts of the country as a precautionary measure. Consequently, multiple flights scheduled to depart from Bengaluru to several states have also been cancelled.

Given the current tense situation in the country, flights from Bengaluru to the following destinations have been suspended as a preventive step: Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jodhpur in Rajasthan, and Ayodhya, Lucknow, and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.

The Kempegowda International Airport Authority posted on X, stating: “Restrictions have been imposed on air traffic in certain airspaces, which may affect services on some of our network flights.”

As a result, passengers are requested to verify the schedule of their respective flights with their airline operators before arriving at the airport.

Passengers can obtain the latest updates on any changes in their flight timings via the official X handles of the concerned airlines, the statement added.
