Kundapur: Prof Krishnegowda of Mysuru awarded Dr Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti

Kundapur, Sep 11: The Dr Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti, awarded annually by the Kota Huttura Prashasti Foundation (R) in collaboration with the Kotatattu Gram Panchayat, honours achievers who have excelled in various fields of interest to Dr Karanth. For the past nineteen years, the award has been presented to notable figures.

Previous recipients include Veerappa Moily, Venkatachala, K Ramakrishna Hegde, Ravi Belagere, Girish Kasaravalli, Jayashree, Mohan Alva, Saalu Marada Thimmakka, Chittani Ramachandra Hegde, Jayant Kaikini, Sadananda Suvarna, Dr B M Hegde, Sriprakash Rai, Shree Padre, Kavita Mishra, Nadoja Dr S L Bhyrappa, Girish Bharadwaj, Ramesh Aravind, and Dr Vidyabhushan.

For 2024, the award has been bestowed upon renowned orator and writer Prof Krishnegowda from Mysuru. Recognized for his inspirational speeches that have motivated generations of youth and for significantly shaping Kannada public speaking, his contributions have earned him this honour.

The award will be presented on October 10, marking the birth anniversary of Dr Shivaram Karanth. This was announced by Anand C Kunder, president of the Dr Shivaram Karanth Huttura Prashasti Foundation, in a press release.

Present at the announcement were Kotatattu gram panchayat president K Satish Kunder, selection committee member U S Shenoy, assistant director of the Kannada and Culture Department Poornima, PDO Ravindra Rao, and foundation's general secretary Narendra Kumar Kota.
