Mangaluru: International Museum Day to be observed on May 18

Mangaluru, May 17: Mahatma Gandhi Museum, recently reopened after refurbishment and run by the Canara High School association, will observe the International Museum Day on Saturday May 18. 

UNESCO has declared the theme for this year's Museum Day as 'Museums for Education and Research'. Subhaschandra Basu, convener of INTACH Mangaluru chapter, will be the guest speaker of the programme which will start at 10 am. Volunteers of NSS Unit in the Canara College, and others enthusiasts too, will visit the museum that day.

The programme will conclude by 1.00 pm. Payyanur Ramesh Pai, director of the Mahatma Gandhi Museum, has informed that the entry to the museum has been allowed free of charges to all visitors.
