Mangaluru, May 16: BJP Spokesperson Rajgopal Rai criticized the Congress party for failing to maintain law and order in Karnataka over the past 11 months. He also pointed out that neither the Home Minister of Karnataka nor any senior Congress leader visited Neha Hiremath's family to offer support. Rai blamed the negligence of the police for Anjali's murder.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, May 15, at the BJP office in Mangaluru, Rajgopal Rai stated, "Today, Karnataka is in constant fear with zero development across the state. Since the Congress party came to power 11 months ago, there has been a significant increase in crimes against women. According to the City Crime Bureau and National Crime Bureau, crime rates have surged by 60%. The Siddaramaiah government has become synonymous with 'Gundaraj.'"

He further commented on the incident in Huballi, where a girl named Anjali was brutally murdered by Girish, who had previously threatened her, saying her fate would be similar to Neha Hiremath's if she denied him. "When they reported it to the police, no action was taken. Neha's father expressed sadness, noting that no ministers visited their house to show support. The drug mafia in Dakshina Kannada is growing stronger, whereas during the BJP's rule, the drug mafias were kept under control. The Congress government seems to be facilitating them," Rai added.

Rai also criticized the state government's handling of the Rameshwaram cafe blast and the Mangaluru cooker blast, stating, "The state government did not take these incidents seriously. When people raised slogans of Ram, charges were pressed against them, but when a shopkeeper played Hanuman Chalisa in his shop, he was brutally attacked. The Congress party's 'Gunda Raj' has become more powerful, and the BJP will tackle this issue."

When asked if BJP Leader JP Nadda, who visited Neha Hiremath's house after her murder, would come for Anjali's case, Rai replied, "We are planning a large protest regarding Anjali's murder, and it is possible that national leaders will be present."

Sanjay Prabhu, Pooja Pai, and others were also present on this occasion.
