Serial holidays: Traffic congestion in Mangaluru, Udupi

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru/Udupi (MS)

Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 29: Vehicle congestion was observed in the twin districts of coastal Karnataka due to consecutive holidays, including polling day, the fourth Saturday, and Sunday.

Normally, traffic congestion is minimal on Sunday mornings due to it being a holiday. However, due to the series of holidays, traffic jams were experienced from Sunday morning, April 28 onwards. The congestion was particularly notable near wedding halls.

In the evening, crowds flocked to Tannirbhavi Beach, Panambur Beach, Kadri Park, and Pilikula Sanctuary in Mangaluru. In Udupi, high concentrations of people were observed at Malpe Beach and Sri Krishna Math. There was a significant influx of tourists from other states, and many temples also witnessed a large number of devotees.

Additionally, the highways saw an increased number of vehicles, in addition to the usual presence of trucks and buses.

Shieft the service bus stand to Pumpwell, DC office to Padil., RTO to shakti Nagar. But our DC has to take first step, and he is not ready, that's why all other shifting is pending. I will guarantee that 100% traffic problem will solve.

Absolutely right all public and open places were crowded yesterday, this is because of the hot and humid climate. Why doesn't the RTO have more buses to Tannirbhavi ? There is only one bus plying from State bank to Tannirbhavi every hour. If there are more buses people will surely be benefitted and traffic will reduce to Tannirbhavi.
