Mangaluru: Delay in reinstalling speed bumps raises safety concerns after PM’s visit

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Apr 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Mangaluru on April 14 included a road show from Narayana Guru Circle to Navbharath Circle. While several arrangements were made for the smooth execution of the event, speed bumps along the stretch from Urwa Store to Navbharath Circle were removed in preparation for the visit.

Four days have passed since the PM's visit, yet the speed bumps have not been restored, causing inconvenience for pedestrians. This busy road sees high-speed traffic, raising concerns about potential accidents.

Speed bumps were removed at various locations, including Chilimbi, Urwa Store, Narayana Guru Circle, Lalbagh, Ballalbagh, and near TMA Pai Hall.

Citizens are urging authorities to reinstall the speed bumps as soon as possible, emphasizing the need for proper painting and the installation of reflectors to enhance safety and prevent accidents.

This is exactly what's wrong with our country. Elected officials are treated as more important than the people who voted for them, it should be the other way around. We should stop placing politicians and celebrities on pedestals. A shift in mindset is necessary!

Worst part is most speed bumps have not been removed completely. A part of it is still left. This puts 2 wheelers at great risk
