Puttur, Feb 15: A truck transporting tar caught fire suddenly while in motion and was partially burnt in the midnight on February 13 near Udane on National highway 75.
The truck was moving to Bengaluru from Mangaluru.
As it reached Udane, the driver noticed smoke in the vehicle suddenly. He stopped the truck and ran to life. Labourers of NH widening work put off the fire and prevented more damage.
It is said that an electrical short circuit is the reason for the fire.
