Mangaluru, Dec 4: A capacity building programme for tour guides and escorts by the ministry of tourism, government of India Bengaluru office was held December 3, at AJ Grand Hotel.

The objective of the programme was to enhance the knowledge, skills and professionalism of tourist guides and escorts. The event aimed to equip them to actively deliver memorable visitor experiences, advocate for responsible tourism practices and foster the sustainable growth of the industry.

The director, India Tourism Bengaluru welcomed the guests and introduced the Incredible India Tourist Facilitator programme of the ministry of tourism. He also highlighted the importance of tourism in creating employment and foreign exchange reserves and emphasized the crucial role of tour guides and escorts in delivering the exceptional services to visiting guests and promoting tourism in the state.

The participants engaged actively in the sessions and participated in stimulating discussions with the resource persons. The programme also included enlightening sessions by guest speakers who illuminated various facets of tourism and stressed the pivotal role of tour guides and escorts in promoting tourism and delivering exceptional services to visiting guests. They also emphasized the importance of responsible tourism practices while delivering the service.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and distribution of certificates to the participants. As many as 70 participants, including tour guides and escorts, tourism stakeholders and officials of India tourism attended the programme.
