Mangaluru: Melodies of C Alvares presented as part of 264th monthly Theatre series at Kalangann

Mangaluru, Dec 3: The 264th programme of the monthly theatre series was presented in Kalangann on December 3. Kalakar Wilson D'Souza of Australia inaugurated the programme by ringing the bell. Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, vice president Navin Lobo, secretary Kishore Fernandes and treasurer Alron Rodrigues were present on the stage. Keron Madtha presented the announcement. This event marked the completion of 22 years of monthly theatre.

Later, Dalgado Academy and Tiatr Academy (Government of Goa) lifetime achievement award winner Kenny Zuzarte presented the monthly theatre. He is famous in the Konkani stage circuits of Mangaluru, Goa and Mumbai. He has released 9 audio and 2 video CDs. He has presented shows across the globe.

His group presented songs of various genres of C Alvares (1920-1999), an actor, writer, singer and producer. He is called the King of Duets. C Alvares has received the best actor award for his work on the film ‘Nirmonn.’ In his career spanning six decades, he has written 107 Tiatr.

The youngest daughter of C Alvares, Capuchina Alvares directed the show. Colin, Crisanda, Jr Kindla, Meric, Mathias, Melroy, Greg, Carrie, Merlin and Kenny Zuzarthe presented the songs. Kenny’s famous numbers Kurlyo (Lawrence De Tiracol) and Bombil Mary (Victor Concesso) were also performed. The accompaniment music of the event was handled by the young and talented Ketan Castelino, while Jasmine Lobo, Agrar compered the programme.
