Udupi, Dec 2: Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said on Saturday December 2 said that minister and MP Shobha Karandlaje is playing politics for publicity.
Speaking to mediapersons he said, “The people of Karnataka are put to hardship due to severe drought. Life of farmers is thrown out of gear. Report is sent to central government about the damages occurred due to drought. So far, not a rupee is released by the union government. Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje is silent on the issue.”
“The Karnataka government is giving Rs 4.5 lac crore tax to the union government. Let Shobha convey to the people of state how much grant the union government is giving to Karnataka. It seems that Shobha just wants to visit her constituency on the pretext of Vikasita Bharath Sankalp Yatra and criticise the Congress party.
“Recently, four people of a family were brutally murdered in Nejar. This falls under the parliament constituency of Shobha. People of the area did not celebrate Deepavali and expressed grief with the family. However, Shobha has neither condemned the murders nor made any effort to visit the family. This shows her narrow mindedness. Though she visited the district she did not visit the family of the slain people. This shows how inhuman she is.
“The BJP led union government does not give any sort of cooperation to Karnataka. But Shobha does not say a word on that matter. It has become a habit for her to criticise the Congress party.
“The statement of state cabinet is a gang of thieves shows the political immaturity of the MP. If state cabinet is a gang of thieves, what shall we address the union cabinet as?
“The people of Karnataka have thrown the BJP government which was sunk in corruption of the highest order. Now they are like fish out of water. This shows their hunger for power. The BJP, which has lost its base in Karnataka is trying to salvage their existence through false propaganda and lies.
“Neither Shobha nor the rest 24 BJP MPs of Karnataka have the guts to speak about the drought situation of Karnataka in front of PM Modi. Hence, they do not have the moral right to criticise the Congress government of Karnataka which is giving successful pro-people administration. On the whole the situation of the BJP is like sour grapes,” he said.
