Udupi: Sports meets help police to maintain physical strength – DC Dr Vidyakumari

Udupi, Nov 29: “Physical strength is most important for police personnel. Annual sports meets such as this help the police,” said Udupi district deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Vidyakumari.

She was speaking after inaugurating the annual sports tournament of the police. “Participation is more important than victory and defeat in sports. The tournament should be considered with sports spirit. Maintain the spirit of ignoring win or loss in the tournament,” she said.

Udupi zilla panchayat CEO Prasanna H said that we think only about sports while indulging in sports activities. “Sports help us to maintain and increase physical strength. It enables us to indulge in our activities with enthusiasm the whole day,” he said.

Udupi district SP Dr Arun K inaugurated the tournament. He said that the tournament is being held to increase the physical strength and social inclination of the police who always experience work related pressure.

APC Jeevan Kuppayya brought the sports light to the sports ground. RSI Ravi administered the oath. Additional SP S T Siddalingappa proposed a vote of thanks. Yogesh Naika compered the programme. DAR Ladies wing Udupi and Kundapur and Karkala sub division police teams conducted the flag march.
