Mangaluru: Police commissioner Kuldeep Jain to hold ‘Phone-in Programme’ on Jun 3

Mangaluru, Jun 1: Police commissioner Kuldeep Jain is all set to resume ‘Police Phone-in Programme’. The call-in programme will be held on June 3 from 10 am to 11 am.

The public now can report problems or complaint directly to the police commissioner during the programme. The public can call up 0824-2220801 and 0824-2220830.

The police phone-in programme was the brainchild of the then police commissioner M Chandrashekar in the year 2016. It was great initiative which went on to complete 100 programmes during his tenure.

It was then continued by police commissioners Sandeep Patil and Dr Harsha for a short period of time.

It was completely stopped after the police firing incident in 2019 here.

The programme is resumed after four years under Kuldeep Jain. The police phone-in programme is one of the best platforms for the public to report complaints and problems to the police commissioner which will be addressed swiftly.

The programme also helps the officials to know the problems pertaining to traffic, drugs, private buses among others.

    If you are for real, here is my first complaint: Eliminate Moral Policing with firm hand and make Mangalore safe in all respect again. Ensure all Moral Police rowdies names are registered in the Police station with new rule for all employers to take clearance certificate from Police department before selecting any candidate for a job.

    Namaskar.... Perhaps the Police think a new or revived landline call is premium... it's not practical to call in span of one hour n most of the time is lost with bad connection n gap in understanding..... Why not the WhatsApp communication in place be put to optimal use.... Problems can be conveyed any time clearly 24x7.... solutions can also be there for good records.... Please be sure.. Thanks.     this programme was stopped during the bjpigs rule...now the khaki is becoming tight due to pressure from our gutsy siddu and hm Dr Parameshwar...qualified people...one lawyer another doctor unlike the unguta chaps

    Thats a Good initative. From the past experience it is seen that it is extremely difficult to get through and one has to spend the whole hour trying. Instead I request the Commissioner to make it possible for Citizens to Write or Mail their Suggestions/Grievences/Complaints to His Office where a Senior Police Official could then brief the Police Commissioner who could Air these in the Programme and reply to the Queries ....

    I fully agree. There should be a dedicated email ID where the Police Commissioner will look into the complaints in person, otherwise many of the complaints will never reach him and will be filtered at a lower level. If there is a email id complaints can be sent with photographic proof.
