Mangaluru, May 28: The owner of a travel agency in the city has been swindled out of Rs 1.31 lac by a travel agent based in Delhi.

According to the details, Zainul Abhideen operates the Shukriya Travel Agency in the Singapore City building on K S Rao Road. He had established a professional relationship with Abu Hilal Ajmi, the owner of Carrier Asia Travel agency in Delhi.

Ajmi regularly booked flight tickets for his clients through Zainul's agency. In November 2022, Ajmi had tickets worth Rs 1.31 lac booked through Zainul's agency and assured him that he would make the payment within a week. However, Ajmi failed to send the promised amount.

When Zainul inquired about the outstanding payment, Ajmi sent him a screenshot of a mobile transaction. Unfortunately, the amount did not reflect in Zainul's bank account.

Zainul filed a complaint stating that Ajmi had deceived him by sending a fraudulent screenshot of the payment. The North police station is conducting further investigations into the matter.
