Mangaluru: Only 15 paisa out of Rs 100 grant used for development – Justice Santhosh Hegde

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jan 29: At present, all over the country, only 15 paise is being used for actual developmental work out of Rs 100 sanctioned, alleged retired Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde.

Justice Hegde was speaking at a district convention in city on Saturday in the city.

Hegde further said, “When Rajiv Gandhi was the prime minister of India in 1985, there was a saying that only 15 paise is used out of every Re 1 sanctioned for any developmental work. Today the situation has become worse. Only our greed has increased.

The state and union governments are looting crores of rupees from the treasury in the name of development. What kind of development are we seeing?"

“There is a competition now in India to become rich and affluent. This will create a crisis in society. The disease called gluttony is spreading like wildfire throughout the country. It is really scary to think where all this will end,” Justice Hegde expressed concern.

Mr. Justice Hegde: Government has other priorities. Before lamenting, ask how much does the government give to feed the poor and the hungry< Should it not be the responsibility of a democratic country, or do the poor do not come into a democracy number. My suggestion to you, Sir, is to campaign for a specially earmarked tax FOR the hungry and the Poor (Not ON theem), so they get at least one square meal a day. The tax can be in numerous different forms; a small tax on restaurant dinners, a small tax on food purchases, a small tax on real estate sales and purchases (that goes to shelter homeless people), etc., in a way that the tax giver doesn't feel a pinch and does not consider it as a Laz(a)R Us tax. . Think about it. Thank you. Your advocacy will have greater impact.

Wait for a few days, more skeletons will tumble out of the cupboard. Dharmesh Doshi (brother in law of Ketan Parekh) earlier from Triumph International sitting in London was the main person manipulating Adani shares through shell companies based in Mauritius, Cayman Islands etc , opposing him is Hindenburg Research who is a short seller. Total debts of Adani group is more than 2 lakh crores, largest exposure from LIC and SBI. Under whose instructions money was lent to him , money laundering could be the only purpose, from where did politicians get the money- "development " is the key word, and the money is OURS....Justice Hegde is right.
