Lancy D'Silva (61), son of the late John and the late Monica D'Silva, husband of Sunita D'Silva, father of Leontia D'Silva, Larissa D'Silva and Lansun D'Silva, son in law of Carmine Valdar, brother of Neville / Teresa D'Silva, Melvin / Reshma D'Silva, Lavina / Chris D'Souza, Donald / Renita D'Silva, uncle of Virginia, Christal, Dillon, Malcolm, Donita, Darrel, Melroy, Miron, Jenisha and Jessica, passed away on Saturday April 11, 2026.

Public viewing of the mortal remains will be brought to the residence "Lansun Villa", 6th Cross, Jayanthi Nagar, Near Taluk Office at 2:00 pm. Funeral cortege leaves residence at 3:30pm for Christ King Church Karkala, on Wednesday April 15, followed by mass at 4.00 pm.

It is very hard for me to believe that our dear Lancy is no more. Everything happened so suddenly, in a way none of us could ever imagine. Lancy was such a loving and gentle person. Very handsome and attractive, his smiling face, soft words, and friendly nature drew everyone close to him. He was healthy and full of life. Just a few days ago, he fell sick due to a cardiac problem and was admitted to the ICU, where he fought bravely for his life. By God’s grace, he recovered, came out of danger, was shifted to a room for a week, and was finally discharged by the doctors. He was even ready to go home. In those last moments, on Saturday the 11th, I had the grace to visit him in the hospital. When I reached, he was very happy to see me along with his family. We spoke well and shared a few thoughts. He told me that he would be going home soon and was just waiting to settle the bill. He was absolutely fine, cheerful, and smiling. He enquired about my wife’s health and thanked God for her recovery. He also spoke about my sons and happily remembered attending my son Vaibhav’s wedding in January. Before leaving, I kissed him on his forehead. Never, even in my dreams, did I think that would be my last goodbye. Within a few moments after I left, he suddenly fell sick again and passed away due to a cardiac arrest. This is something I still cannot believe or accept easily. It has caused a deep shock and great pain in my heart. His loving wife, daughters, and family were so happy and waiting to take him home. They had taken such loving care of him, like a child. How will they bear this great loss? From the joy of going home to such a sudden loss — it is truly heartbreaking. Though I had the blessing of spending his last moments with him, my heart is filled with deep sorrow. I pray that God grants eternal rest to our dear Lancy’s soul and gives strength, comfort, and peace to his loving wife, children, and family during this time of great loss. O God, please be with them in this difficult time. Only You, along with Mother Mary, can truly console them. Goodbye, dear Lancy… until we meet again. I believe you are in Heaven, celebrating the Divine Mercy Feast and your dear mom’s birthday today (12th), along with her, the angels, and all the saints. 🙏 — Aloysius, Joyce, Vernon

I was deeply saddened to receive a call last night and hear about the sad passing away of our dear Lancy. Lancy was a true gentleman, soft spoken, kind loving and great at his job. Both of us worked at ABB for a long time in Dubai. I pray for his soul to rest in peace and for his dear family to have the courage and graces from our Almighty God to bear this sad loss.
