Eveline D'Souza (94), wife of the late John Baptist D'Souza, daughter of the late Camil D’Silva and the late Lucy Britto, mother of Joyce / William, Stany / Lynette, Claudia / Saturnine, Dony / Premila, Cany / Flosy, Blany / Shanthi, Arun / Godwina, Raj / Gen and Neela / Franklin, grandmother of Riyana, Rovina, Kevin, Teena, Jennifer, Vinush, Pranoy, Dionne, Crisel, Chrysann, Darren, Dona, Sejal, Shaun, Aiden and Nihaal, great grandmother of Calvin, Michael, Raphael, Gabriel and Rhea, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Mortal remains will be brought to the residence Padua House, Blany Dsouza, Terrace Garden, Jai Hind Road, Marnamikatta, Mangalore at 9.30 am on Sunday, August 23 for public viewing. Funeral cortege leaves residence at 11.00 am for Rosario Cathedral, Mangalore followed by funeral Mass at 11.30 am. Burial rites at Rosario Cemetery, Jeppu, Mangalore.

No matter what life brought your way, you always had a smile on your face. Your gentle spirit, positive outlook and loving heart made everyone around you feel welcome, valued and cared for. You had a special gift for making each of us feel important. You never forgot a birthday and whenever our phones rang, we knew it was you calling with your loving wishes. We are especially grateful that my family and I had the privilege of spending time with you just last Sunday. You spoke with all of us, shared your love and gave us your blessings. Looking back, that precious time together feels like a final gift from you, one that we will treasure forever. Though our hearts ache in your absence, we find comfort in knowing that your love, your prayers and your blessings will remain with us always. You may no longer be by our side, but you will forever live in our hearts, in our memories and in the family you nurtured with such devotion. Rest peacefully, Mumma. You were deeply loved and you will be dearly missed.

Blessed kindness, love, and goodness, never wishing to hurt anyone, and finally leaving this world peacefully for Heaven. 🙏❤️ Our hearts ache because she was such a wonderful aunt. Until just last month, almost every week, my phone would ring and I would hear that familiar, loving voice: “Hi putha, kaso asai?” “Hi son, how are you?” ❤️ I’m not trying to make this dramatic. It is simply a feeling that is difficult to put into words. Something feels missing from my heart today. The phone will ring many more times in my life, but that particular voice on the other end, calling me putha with so much affection, will never be heard again. And that is what hurts. At the same time, I feel blessed. Not everyone in life is fortunate enough to have an aunt who cared so deeply, who kept in touch through the years, and whose simple phone call could bring warmth and happiness. Such caring souls are rare. Such aunts are difficult to find again in a lifetime.
