Thanks to the consistent efforts of Railway Yathrikara Sangha lead by Mr.R L Dias and his non political supporters.

Well, I just saw one of the local newspaper in Mangalore regarding this article. One of the managers / minister have said that due to technical reasons, the train could not be extended to Mangalore Central. After all, there is hardly just 5 kms from Mangalore Junction. I wonder what do they do they mean by saying 'technical issues'?

We hope the minister would re-consider this request along with daily service from YPR - MAQ and MAQ - YPR day train services to run daily.

Good for mangaloreans. This would definitely hit the private luxury bus operators very badly. They have been overcharging the passengers & this would certainly make an impact

Need of the hour is to extend the service from Karwar to Bangalore so that Mudgao is linked with Bangalore and so also is the need to extend the service upto Mangalore than Mangalore Junction so that passengers need not get stranded at Kankanady Junction and spend money for autos to reach houses

GOOD NEWS FOR THE NEW TRAIN FROM MUMBAI CST TO MANGALORE BUT IT SHOULD HAVE A STOP AT BHATKAL TOO AS THERE ARE MORE PERSONS TRAVELLING FROM BHATKAL TO MUMBAI THAN FROM BYNDOOR AND KUMTA.AUTHORITIES MUST CONSIDER THIS FACT.

The urgent need is to extend the service up to Mangalore Central. .Further to stop the train at Kundapur instead of Baindoor.,as Kundapur is a big town which can take care of Kollur. The local M.Ps DVS and Nalin Kumar should take up this matter with Railway Authoritis.Note that Baindoor stop is made for the benefit of Keralites.

When so much trouble has been taken to introduce this long awaited train service, it would have been worthwhile if the train could commence from Mangalore Central instead of Kankanady. This would facilitate considerably the traveling public. It is a well known fact hat public conveyance from Kankanady to The City is anything but good. Hope the Ministry and the people concerned will give this a serious thought and extend the service to Mangalore Central Railway Station.

Thanks to all who managed this.
There is one request though. The monsoon time table is effective till 31st Oct every year.It will be of immense help if this is implemented till 30th Sept as it is safe to travel on Konkan route thereafter since there are hardly any rains/ landslides during October on Konkan railway route.
