Beltangady, Jan 6: The body of Sandesh (34), an artisan engaged in making gold jewellery, was found from Guruvayankere pond on Tuesday January 5 morning. Sandesh used to stay in a rented house near Indrali, Udupi, and was working for a jewellery firm located at Badagupete Udupi.
After a call was made to a telpehone number found in the shirt found on the body, it came to be known that he was from Udupi. Sandesh had attended work on Monday as usual. In the afternoon, he had visited his home for lunch. He had left his mobile phone at his home and then went missing. The family members went searching for him but failed in their effort.
Sandesh had married three years back and the couple has a 20-day-old male baby. It is not known why he went to Beltangdy, and whether he accidentally slipped and fell into the pond.
