Mangalore Air Crash : Shahnawaz Contradicts Records, Says He Is Alive !

Kasargod: Air Crash – Shahnawaz Contradicts Records, Says He Is Alive
Daijiworld Media Network – Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Jun 7: Shahnawaz Mohammad Koya, a resident of Pallikkanattil in Kozhikode, has filed a complaint in the Indian consulate in Dubai, contradicting a claim that he had travelled by the ill-fated Air India Express flight No. IX-812 from Dubai, which crashed at Mangalore airport on May 22. As per records, the man travelling by using his passport, had died in the tragedy.

“I did not travel by the said flight. But some unidentified person flew by that flight by using passport No. 0606599, which actually stands in my name. A detailed investigation should be conducted into the circumstances in which the same passport number was used by someone else,” he demanded in the complaint.

In his complaint, he alleged that a fake passport racket was actively functioning from ‘Kasargod Embassy’ in Kasargod.

With the receipt of this complaint, the processing of the claim of Abdul Samad from Kannur, whose name is listed at No. 52 in the list of passengers who travelled by the said flight, has faced problems. His family will now be finding it hard to get the relief and compensation. This passenger had travelled in the name, Abdul Samad Shanawaz, Pellarattingal House, Arakinar, Kozhikode.

It is said that the family of Shahnawaz, which found the passport number given in the list matching with that of Shahnawaz, called him and found that he is safe. The officials who have received the complaint, are making enquiries, it is learnt. They are aware that the government will be answerable at a later date, if it disburses relief and compensation to those who travelled by using fake passports.

I feel any interrogation is an attack on the rights of people, they are poor, downtrodden  and belong to minority community. They should be allowed to survive with small income from Dubai. I suggest the passport to be easily available like a SIM card

The Ministry of Forign Affairs should take this fiasco as a challenge and go in to deep of the racket for the interst of the nation.

The time is very bad as we are facing terrorist threat which the fake passport could be used for criminal activities. It is certainly an embrrassment for the concerned officials as we, Indian can buy, forge any official docuements for few bucks.

Kasaragod Embassy or Kasaragod University have existed from ages. 12 years back when I was in Dubai, I had heard about it. What documents do you need, name it and these racketeers will produce it at a price. Do you want duplicate passport, marriage certificate, degree/diploma. Surely employees from the concerned department are involved. Without their assistance how can genuine lookalikes come into the market and pass scrutiny. The fact is majority of we Indians lack moral character. Given an opportunity, we would like to take shortcuts or do "Jugad" and pride ourselves. We will not desist from taking shortcuts nor stop the shady characters from flourishing.

How can it be possible that with same name & with same passport number two persons were existing in Dubai ? In GCC countries everything is computerised and how can it be possible that it was un-noticed by Dubai PP & Immigration dept. ? Hope the air crash victim's family will not be a sufferer for other's mistakes.

Can the media\airlines bring out again a detailed list of names of people along with passport numbers and date of issue etc, so that we can make out all fake passport issues. It just amazes me how these things take place. When immigration authorities swipe the passport barcodes, can't they make out what is fake and what is real even when they leave and or arrive from airports? I will not be surprised if there are many people by my name travelling on same passport number. I should not be surprised at all.

The incident once again proved that no expatriate are safe due to the well routed anti-social rackets. Its very bad no know that passport forgery racket still successfully functioning. Administration has to convince general public about their responsibility by introducing “punctual” and “effective” enquiry to find routes of these rackets.
Being Kasargodian…. I feel shame to read news about “Kasargod Embassy”, feel disturbed to face colleagues. I pray god to bless authorities with honest and dedicated mentality to destroy above “Embassy” asap.
