Udupi: ‘Nagaradhane’ Promotes National Unity—Swami Vishwapriyateerta

Udupi, May 28:
“‘Nagaradhane is not limited to a family or community of people belonging to a specific caste and creed in the society.  It has the power of uniting the various communities in our country.  Therefore, Naga worship contributes to national unity”, said Sri Vishwapriyateerta Swami of Adamar Mutt.
 
Swami Vishwapriyateerta was speaking at the Nagamandalotsav celebrations held at the household of Kurkal Kuledu Katpady Pai on Wednesday May 26.

 
Swami Vishwapriyateerta further said that there lies a divine spirit behind our every act.  “If one realizes that positive energy, one would achieve success in life”, he added.
 
Vidwan Herga Ravindra Bhat elaborated on the distinct Tulunadu practice of ‘Nagaradhane’ which has been practiced since ages for health, wealth, and prosperity.  It also facilitated to conserve Mother Nature in its original form.
 
Astrologist Vidwan Nitte Prasanna Acharya, Vedamurti Kamalaksha Bhat, priest of the Pai family, retired lecturer Shivaram Shetty, Katpady temple managing trustee Baburaya Kamath, town council president Kurkal Dinakar Shetty, former gram panchayat president Mahesh Shetty, Kuledu Melmane Chandrashekar Shetty, Vedamurti Narasimha Upadyaya, Nagapatri Sadri Gopalakrishna Samaga, and elders of the Pai family were present on the dais.
 
K Narayan Pai welcomed the gathering.  Giridar Pai explained the background of family worship in their household.  K Harischandra Pai introduced the dignitaries.  Sameeksha Pai rendered prayers.  Rotarian Appu Poojary compered the programme.  Family Trust chairman K Sathyendra Pai proposed the vote of thanks. 
 
Various religious and cultural programmes were also held on the occasion.  Free food offering for devotees was held on Wednesday afternoon.  The Nagamandalotsav was held on Wednesday night.
