Chikkaballapur: Four drown after going to swim in pond

Chikkaballapur, Nov 5: Four boys who went to swim in a pond in Oodawarapalli village in Chintamani taluk of the district drowned. This tragic incident happened on Wednesday November 4 afternoon.

In a joint operation launched by the police and fire department staff, the bodies were retrieved later.

The victims were Santhosh (11) and Varun (12) belonging to Salamakalapalli village, Mallikarjun (12) from Oodawarapalli village and Badrinath (13) from Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. It is said that the boys failed to properly assess the depth of the pond. Two of the bodies were found by evening and the two others at night.
