Dubai, Oct 28: Konkan Yuva Dubai is glad to announce its forthcoming back to back mega virtual entertaining shows and competitions of 2020 for all the Konkani community on their 15th year anniversary. This will be organized in the month of November and December 2020 which includes Kids Talent Hunt on November 14, Sports Fest ‘Khel Mhel-2.0’ Challenge Hunt on November 27, Christmas Carols Virtual Singing Show on December 18 and Christmas Crib Competition on December 25.
Konkan Yuva has been successfully organizing events from past consecutive years and this year too, under the leadership of president Vivian Fernandes, spiritual director Fr Denis Saldahna and the Konkan Yuva Core Committee members, intending to make this virtual entertaining shows and competitions for the year 2020. Fr Denis Saldanha OFM Cap said, “In this pandemic too Konkan Yuva has used right platform to exhibit our community talents as well as to reach everyone’s homes.”
Vivian Fernandes said, “This year marks the 15th year of our inception, and Konkan Yuva prides itself in harnessing the talents of Konkani community. The interest of Konkani community at this pandemic encouraged our youth to organize many programs with all precautionary measures of COVID. Members have geared up for the events and we are sure that the participants will be happy & pleased with our efforts.”
Kids Talent Hunt Video Competition 2020 – On Saturday November 14 - (Any Region/Open to All)
As a part of celebrating the Children’s day, Konkan Yuva Dubai is glad to announce Virtual Video competition for Children (Open to all /Any Region)
Category:
A. 3 to 7 Years - Dance/ Singing Competition/Story Telling – Solo or Duet
B. 8 to 13 Years - Painting/Best Out of Waste/Mimicry/Standup Comedy/Voviyo -Solo or Duet
• Contestants can submit only one video; it needs to be your original creation.
• No Entry Fee, No Restrictions on Religion and Region
• Language must be Konkani.
• Video must be minimum of 2 Minutes and should not exceed more than 3 minutes
• Video should be in Landscape mode with good Quality
• Video will be uploaded on Konkan Yuva Face Book page and link will be updated to you.
• Last date for submitting your videos is November 12th, 2020 and the Competition begins from 01st November onwards
• Result will be announced on 14th November 2020 in Konkan Yuva Face Book Page
• Judging will be done on basics of Creativity, Talent & Entertainment only and not on likes/shares.

‘Khel Mhel-2.0’ Challenge Hunt – On Friday November 27 - UAE Residents Only
‘Khel Mhel’ a sports extravaganza with a package full of fun is all set to enthrall UAE Konkan’s on Friday, November 27 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The half-day extravaganza is organized by Konkan Yuva which will bring out all your energy and thus ensure a fun filled day with all precautionary measures of COVID.
Konkan Yuva received an overwhelming response last year with 26 teams and this time also requests for the generous support from the Konkani community for this event, through significant contribution and active participation to make the event a spectacular one.
‘Khel Mhel’ 2.0 - Challenge Hunt is a unique event, need to travel around the city and there will be a lot of activities like Physical, Mental, Scavenger, Cooking, Selfie, Public Transport etc. needs to complete within allotted time and place.
Highlights of the game:
• Team consists of only 3 members (Male/Female) and should travel in one Car (own)
• There will be minimum 8 tasks which needs to be complete.
• To get location details any one of the members should have Mobile Data & Whatsapp
• Task consists of Physical, Mental, Scavenger, Cooking, Selfie, Public Transport etc
• Limited Entry and Last date to register is 20th November
• Winners will be awarded with trophy and cash prizes

Christmas Crib Video Competition - On Friday December 25 - UAE Residents Only
As a part of celebrating the spirit of Christmas and to keep alive the beautiful tradition & faith, Konkan Yuva Dubai is glad to announce Virtual Video competition for all the Konkani community of UAE.
Rules and Regulations
• The contest will be held in two categories - Indoor Crib and Outdoor Crib.
• Only one video can be submitted, and Contest is open to residents of UAE only.
• No entry fee and No age limit.
• Video should be in Landscape mode with good Quality
• Language must be Konkani/English starting with Introduction and names of people associated with the creation of the crib.
• Video must be minimum of 2 Minutes and should not exceed more than 3 minutes.
• Video will be uploaded on Konkan Yuva page (Face Book) and link will be updated to you.
• Mandatory: Infant Jesus resting in a manger, Mary and Joseph. Other figures may include angels, shepherds and animals. Figures can be made of any material.
• Any material and media can be used.
• Crib is a depiction of the birth of Jesus. Hence contestants are urged to encourage children to actively participate in the process of making the crib.
• Last date for submitting your videos is December 26, 2020.The competition begins from December 22 onwards and Result will be announced on January 4, 2021, in Konkan Yuva Facebook page.
• Assessment will be done based on:
• Importance to handwork
• Creative use of materials
• Originality
• Maintaining traditional aspects

Christmas Carols Singing Virtual Show – On Friday December 18
As a part of celebrating the spirit of Christmas and to keep alive the beautiful tradition & faith, Konkan Yuva Dubai is glad to announce Christmas Carols Virtual Singing Show which will be broadcasted on December 18th Friday (Time will be published soon) on Konkan Yuva Face Book Page and YouTube Channel.

Konkan Yuva is one of the first Dynamic Youth association for the youth of Konkan region residing in Dubai. The organization has played key role in bringing the youth together, organizing various cultural programmes and helped members to enhance their skills by providing various levels of training and leadership qualities.
