Mangaluru: Radio Sarang distributes pots for kitchen waste management

Mangaluru, Oct 17: The rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Melwin J Pinto at a function arranged to distribute custom made kitchen waste management pots here, on Friday said, "All must make the whole world into one’s home and not home as one’s only world. The function was organized jointly by Radio Sarang and Ramakrishna Mission.

Fr Pinto Said, “All must understand that it is only when we take responsibility for the waste we generate that we can keep our surroundings clean. Keeping our environment clean will help us keep our hearts and minds clean.”

Forty interested persons were given custom made pots to manage kitchen waste and thus produce manure at home. A volunteer from Ramkrishna math, Ranjan Belarpady, deputy secretary and nodal officer of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Swachh Bharat Mission, Anand Kumar K, principal of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Dr (Fr) Praveen Martis SJ were present. Sachin Shetty, a volunteer from Ramkrishna Mission demonstrated the use of the mud pots.
