Ramanagara, Oct 17: "My elders (Deve Gowda) had entered into an understanding with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to form a coalition government with the Congress. At his advice, I went along with the Congress. If I had formed an alliance with the BJP, our government would not have fallen. We would have been safely enjoying power for five years. In my entire remaining life, I will never ever trust the Congress," declared former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy. He was addressing the JD(S) party workers at Bidadi in the district on Friday October 16.

The party workers from Maralawadi revenue division had come together at the farmhouse of Kumaraswamy at Ketaganahalli. "I regret the fact that when I was the chief minister, because of work pressure, I could not listen to your grievances. Due to coronavirus scare, I could not meet the party workers. Therefore, now revenue division level party workers meetings are being held," he explained.

Kumaraswamy stated that in the interests of the voters and party workers from the constituency, he will not develop enmity with anyone in the BJP government. He said that chief minister B S Yediyurappa, has been responding properly to him. When his party workers said that during the corona pandemic, Congress leader Iqbal Hussain, had extended help in many ways but they find it difficult to seek votes as they cannot make claims of helping the people like him, Kumaraswamy got angry, and said that he had distributed food and other items by spending Rs 6.5 crore which the people seem to have forgotten.
