Mangaluru: IEEE Student Branch inaugurated at Srinivas University

Mangaluru, Oct 11: IEEE student branch was inaugurated at Srinivas University on October 10 through an online programme.

Prof Annappa professor and OBC liaison officer, NITK inaugurated the Branch. In his inaugural address he said, "Faculties and students should upgrade their knowledge to compete in the international scenario. IEEE's mission is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE works on the basis of learning, interact, collaborate and innovate". "IEEE provides a mentorship programme for the academic excellence," he added.

In his presidential remarks, Dr P S Aithal vice-chancellor of Srinivas University and IEEE Branch Head appreciated the IEEE for providing a dedicated website for research purposes which will boost the research activity in the campus. He assured that Srinivas University will host prominent conferences of IEEE in Mangaluru.

Dr Niranjan U C chair, IEEE, Mangaluru, Prof Shridhara Acharya faculty advisor, IEEE, SU SB and Dr A Jayanthiladevi, branch advisor, IEEE, SU SB were the guest of honours.

Vinayachandra chair, IEEE, SU SB presented yearly plan. Dr Krishna Prasad K, counsellor of IEEE Student Branch of Srinivas University welcomed the gathering. MC conducted by Rajeshwari M programme committee and Geetha Poornima K secretary, IEEE SU SB proposed the vote of thanks.
