Panaji: Highest outbreak - 570 new infections, total crosses 10,000 mark

Panaji, Aug 13: Goa on Thursday reported the highest spike in the COVID-19 cases with 570 people testing positive taking the tally to 10,494, a health department official said.

During the day, 271 people were discharged from after which the number of recovered cases had touched 6,912. There are 3,491 active cases in the state.

Two persons, a 48-year-old male and a 73-year-old male succumbed to the infection during the day.

“Out of 3,236 samples tested, 1,926 were negative and 570 returned positive while 740 reports are awaited,” the official said.
