Mangaluru: Cashew India App to help cashew cultivators

Mangaluru, Aug 7: National Cashew Research Centre has developed 'Cashew India App' with the specific aim of helping cashew growers. The app has every information a cultivator needs, right from the grafting of cashew saplings, nursery, farming, management of insects and diseases, post-harvesting processing, market information, e-market, cashew farmers, researches, development department, processing units and all other information.

The farmer or customer can upload the photo of his cashew plantation and videos in the sub- section, 'my cashew crop' in the agricultural section. They can contact resource persons through 'ask the experts' section. They can chat with other users on chat room. The users can hear audio version of articles through e-speak. In the market information section, they can sell or buy cashew products, said director (in-charge) of the centre, Dr M G Nayak.

The app is available in 11 languages including Kannada and English. It can be downloaded from Google playstore.
