Bengaluru: Second PU results: Girls outshine boys - Dakshina Kannada, Udupi stand first

Bengaluru, Jul 14: Second PU results have been announced. Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have bagged the top spot in the state, followed by Kodagu district.

The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) on Tuesday July 14 declared the results of the Pre-University II-year examination (PUC).

Addressing a press meet, Primary & Secondary Education minister Suresh Kumar, joined by the officials said, "Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district have topped the Karnataka 2nd PUC examination followed by Kodagu.

"Of the 5,56,26 students who wrote the exams at around 1,000 centres across the state, 3,8,947 passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 61.80, marginally better than 61.73 per cent in 2019 during normal times. Students who did not appear for the exams in March or June can appear in the supplementary exams in early August along with the failed students and avoid missing an academic year," he said. 

The results are out on website - karresults.nic.in.

The overall pass percentage this year is 61.80 percent and candidates of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district have topped the board exam.

Like every year, girls have outperformed boys.

The pass percentage among girl students is 68.73% and boys is 54.77%. Commerce students have scored 65.52 pass percentage, Science students a pass percentage of 76.20 and arts 41.27%.

District-wise pass percentage:

Dakshina Kannada and Udupi - 90.71 per cent
Kodagu - 81.53 per cent
Vijayapura last with 54.22 per cent

Bengaluru, Jul 14: The results of Karnataka Pre-University Education (PUE) or PU examinations have been announced. A total of 5.95 lakh students who had appeared in the class 12 exams will get their results through the website- http://karresults.nic.in 

Like other boards, the PUC II exam was also affected due to COVID-19 pandemic. The only remaining paper (English) which was originally scheduled to be held on March 23, was conducted on June 18.

The students can check the results through the website mentioned above.
