Mangaluru: SAC staff, students bag prizes for Research Presentation

Mangaluru, Jul 10: Winning an award is the proudest moment in a research career. St Aloysius College staff and students won the 'Best Research Presentation Awards' at the two-day international virtual conference on 'Natural Products and Synthetic Biology (ICNSB2020)' organized by the School of Bio-Sciences and Technology, VIT,
Vellore and Society of Chemical and Synthetic Biology (SCSB).

Dhanusha C Nair and Krishnendu V, students of the second year MSc Biotechnology secured first prize in an oral presentation entitled 'In vitro Evaluation of Antioxidant and Anticancer Activities of Exopolysaccharide isolated from Bacteria of Mangaluru Coastal Region'. As part of the curriculum, they are conducting their project work under the guidance of Sreejesh P C.


Sreejesh P C

Sreejesh P C, assistant professor, Department of Biotechnology won second prize in e-Poster presentation competition on his work entitled 'Antitumor Exopolysaccharides Derived from Ovarian Microbiome: Isolation, Characterization and Biological Activity”.

He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at Mangalore University approved Research Centre in Biotechnology at St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru under the guidance of Dr Asha Abraham, associate professor, Department of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Biotechnology, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru.
