Most of the people who are getting admitted to hospitals in the district with flu and breathing difficulties are testing positive for coronavirus. In addition, patients who get admitted to various surgeries are also turning to be positive for coronavirus test. The source of infection of rest 69 people is unknown. Out of this 28 are flu cases. There are seven cases of patients who got admitted to hospital for surgery. They also have tested positive for the dreaded disease.

Random testing was conducted at Kodi, Kotepura, Azad Nagara, Mukkachheri, Subhash Nagara and other residential areas that fall under Ullal municipality. Most of them have tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the reports of that were available on Friday, 38 people under Ullal municipality limits tested positive for coronavirus. Out of this 24 are random test cases. It is also confirmed that politicians who were active in social activities during the lockdown period have tested positive for coronavirus.

"Coronavirus infection is coming to light in people on whom the random testing is conducted in city areas. Most of the positive cases are reported in people who do not have direct contact with the infected people. Still need to raise awareness about SMS - Social distancing Mask Sanitisation. Saw a man sitting in a bus the other day, pulled down the mask and spat on the road at Saibeen traffic signal. Before something could be done, the signal turned green and off went the bus. At least the conductors can take note of this and advice them against this kind of behaviour.

I think there is a lot of mishandling in testing centers.our neighbor had come from UP he underwent test and it came positive. Later he was tested again after 5 days after his lot of request and he came out negative. I think they should upgrade their testing kits or not rush the testing process. A friend of mine informed me that since there are a lot of samples coming into testing centers. These people have a lot of load on themselves and faulty kits+load=varied results. Stay safe guys. Don't go to testing camps until it is absolute necessary. There is a 80% chance it will turn out positive.

public transport facilities should be stopped. In public transport, if bus is full and if a person travels in the bus for more than 15 minutes, there is possibility of infection even with mask, let alone without mask.....stop public transport totally within the city as well as city to outside...ksrtc buses can be provided only for medical workers or other departments such as municipality / police personnel...

Community spread is bound to happen. As long as buses are running full particularly during peak hours, many people not wearing masks and people still spitting on road. No punishments are meted outfit all these irresponsible behaviours. The administrators should come down heavily on these violaters.
We should implement lockdown for 10 days, work for another 2 weeks and then again have a lockdown for 10 days. This is the only way we can break the chain and help the doctors and other medical professionals who are facing the brunt of this calamity.
    Is somebody listening?

This is an example, without people support government cannot achieve anything. As soon as lock down is relaxed, functions, marriages, inaugurations etc have started. Which could have waited until this pandemic is settled down.

Community spread is bound to happen when you do unlock 1.0 and 2.0. Already 50% of the cases, we are unable to trace contacts which means they don't know how they got the virus. This despite mangalore being a relatively less crowded city. Only way we can do it is to go for complete testing of citizen and then isolate each and every case. Also already start ramping up hospital beds assuming worst case scenario. Places like TAPai auditorium and other marriage halls etc need to be converted to hospitals.
Also, 90% of effort will ahve to come from the people, you ahve to assume that eeveryone in this place including you is an asymptomatic carrier and behave accordingly.

No doubt that this pandemic is spreading fast. But many hospitals are making money in the name of this pandemic. I have lost hope in hospitals and doctors who work in hospitals on target basis.....Many hospitals are giving targets to the doctors yearly.

It is too late to stop the transmission. Lockdowns will not work unless they are for 3-4 months at a stretch from now on. We must immediately isolate the vulnerable and save them - senior citizens, people with ailments and children.

When 100 people are randomly tested and a fair number are positive and the contact source cannot be identified,it means there is community transmission. As 90%are asymptomatic ,hospitalization should not be compulsory for asymptomatic and those with mild symptoms and beds should be reserved for those who have breathing difficulty or grave symptoms . One need not panic as corona positive does not mean death -the mortality due to Corona alone is less than 1% provided comorbidities are treated well. The death rate in TB, Malaria and road accidents are much more. When nearly 80% of the population test positive it means "herd immunity" has developed, then the virus disappears.

OMG !!! Community spread of Covid19 virus, would certainly be catastrophic, for citizens living in Dakshin Kannada district !! Wenlock hospital is ill equipped to cater to huge volumes of positive patients, arriving for treatment.... How on Earth, will the local administration control the spiralling pandemic ??? Will we encounter deaths, on the streets of Mangaluru city, like it's counterpart in Bangaluru metropolis ?????

Please seal down entire DK immediately. What is the use of locking down in those past days when the cases were in single digit?? If not now then when??? These people at home don't listen to us. Instead of getting house hold things all at once, they are going again and again.. It is better to die without food rather than Corona virus. Because the ones who die from this virus won't even have a good funeral. Family members are not allowed to bury them as well. PLEASE SAVE DAKSHINA KANNADA. PLEASE SEAL DOWN IMMEDIATELY.
