Mangaluru: Self-declared lockdown in Ullal after 28 people test corona-positive

Mangaluru, Jul 2: A remarkable increase has been witnessed in the number of coronavirus cases in the district. Over 28 people including a two-year-old and three-year-old child in Ullal vicinity on Thursday tested positive for the virus. The considerable rise has caused fear among people.

The 28 people included six-year-old and three-year-old boys residing in Anila compound, Ullal; 29-year-old woman residing at Mukkacheri; 39-year-old, 44-year-old and 55-year-old men residing in Azad Nagar; 36, 50 and 30-year-old women, 13 and 8-year-old boys, 12-year-old girl, two-year-old child, a 51-year-old man residing at Ullal Patel compound; a 26-year-old man in Harekala panchayat limits; a 46-year-old man from Akkarekere; a 52-year-old man from Munnoor; a 13-year-old girl from Thokkottu; a 32-year-old man from Melangady, Ullal; a 30-year-old man from Ullal Hyderali; a 48-year-old man from Mukkacheri road; a 48-year-old man from Sultan Nagar, Ullal; a 44-year-old woman from Ullal Padmashali compound; a 54-year-old man from Mogaveerapatna; a 65-year-old man from Someshwar, Ullal; a 29-year-old man from Anila compound Ullal; a 27-year-old woman from Kallapu, Thokkottu and three people each from Someshwar, Munnoor and Harekala have tested positive for the infection.

Voluntary Bandh:

As the coronavirus scare continued its grip over Ullal, a voluntary bund was observed on Thursday. Shops remained closed at Ullal junction, Kotepura, Alekala, Manchila, Margathale and Halekote. Rikshaw drivers drove their vehicles only till 12.30 pm.
