Mangaluru: Inhuman act - Son drags father from lodge, absconds

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jun 29: In an inhuman incident that occurred in a private lodge at Deralakatte on Monday June 29, a son dragged his father who was staying at a lodge to the ground floor by his legs from first floor.

The father was in the private lodge as he and his son had come from Mumbai to Mangaluru 15 days ago. The father was first treated at a private hospital before moving to a nearby lodge. It is learnt that both father and son are of Uppala origin and the exact reason for the son’s inhuman action is not known.

Locals who were at the spot reportedly did not intervene. The act of son is captured on the CCTV.

The son is reportedly absconding after the incident.

A few people helped the father by giving him first aid later.

The son has behaved like a beast manifesting cruelty. What he has sown he would one day reap from his children. It's sad that the son doesn't realise that what he is today is because of the hard work of his parents. This incident makes us reflect if there any difference between animals and humans?

Son is alright in good health. That is the reason to abscond.

Moral classes must be taken for that son. Such sons needs to be isolated from the society and family must ensure, not even a paise from inherited property reach his hands from the elders.

As per my knowledge there is a strict law and act is passed by government against children to torture their parents and trubbles as well in their old age.
This son must be not aware of that law.
Now the ball is in law enforcement agencies court , they need to act swiftly before things go out of the way.

A few days back we celebrated Happy Father's Day. A sign of gratitude towards the hardships our parents(father) have taken to bring us up in life. Not only on the social platform but in practical life we need to follow it. I pity the elderly man whose son has done this inhuman, disrespectful, heinous act. Whatever be the reason the son could have taken someones help rather than dishonouring his father. I just hope the elderly man is fine. As Sajaan has mentioned earlier I too feel God is testing his people during this hard time.

Priya Pune, yes we celebrate fathers day .Such celebrations are of late.Previously such celebrations were not known but he was respected and given a wonderful place in family. One need not celebrate and show the world, later he is forgotten and kept in home for the aged.Just respect him, even when he talks sometimes against you or scold.Simply cherish him give him needed treatment and food when he is not in a state self taking care of him.Draging him by legs to ground floor is simply a ashaming act.He must come back and say sorry and touch his legs.Even without property and money one can love father in a simple way .

So sad, the son should never have indulged in such in human and cruel action.
May be financial crises, fear, depression, social stigma etc have led the son to such horrific action.
Good of the locals to come to the aid of the grandpa. Get well soon grandpa
Responsible authority please locate the son, he needs urgent treatment and rehabilitation before he gives in tragic action.

Mr. KK, I am unable to understand link between 2014 and domestic violence and intolerance. As I understand, media has become more and more active these days that any and every incident comes to light. Such heinous incidents used to happen in earlier days too but were not coming to light much. I think we must not link issues for our political gain so that we lose our credibility. For your kind info, I am also pro-cong but I evaluate and see things differently.

Pandemic is a period where in god observing each and everybody how people react to one another and help. It's the right time we should contribute some thing for people who are in distress in one or other way. We cannot leave anybody. Many people are in difficult time...and are not informing to others. Saju, everything whatever you mentioned here is agreeable....if staying in the lodge is expensive.... talk to father... Inform concerned authorities/police/family members to solve the issue. After that he should have vacated the room. You always speak about karma. Today he did like this to his elderly father... Tomorrow he will get from his children for sure. Sometimes elderly people also arrogant/speak harsh etc. But, surely this is not the way.... Karma definitely follows..... When he was dragging from the first floor, what was the staff was doing? Till where humanity reached just see....
