Mangaluru: 22-year-old drowns in pond while swimming

Mangaluru, Jun 14: In a tragic incident that occurred on Saturday June 13, a youth, who went for swimming in a pond drowned.

Santhosh Devadiga (22), resident of Krishnapura Naithangadi and son of Tharanath is the unfortunate victim of this incident.

He had been for swimming on the afternoon on Saturday along with four of his friends.

Santhosh was swimming near a rock. As his friends were watching, he suddenly drowned. When his friends screamed for help, locals rushed to the spot and tried to rescue him but could not save Santhosh. He was studying third year diploma at a private institute. He is survived by father, mother and a brother.

A case in this connection is registered in Surathkal police station.
