Bajaj Auto's May total sales down 70%


Mumbai, June 2 (IANS): Two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto on Tuesday reported a fall of 70 per cent in total sales, including exports, for May 2020.

According to the company, its total sales during the month under review fell to 1,27,128 units from 4,19,235 units sold during the corresponding month of 2019.

Similarly, Bajaj Auto's total domestic sales stood at 40,074 units -- down 83 per cent -- from 2,35,824 units sold in May last year.

The two- and three-wheeler manufacturer's overall exports declined by 53 per cent to 87,054 units from 1,83,411 units shipped out during the like month of 2019.

In term of two-wheelers, the company's total sales fell 69 per cent to 1,12,798 units from 3,65,068 units sold in May last year.

The company's commercial vehicles' sales during the month under review declined by 74 per cent to 14,330 units from 54,167 units sold during the like period of last year.
