Bantwal: Man drowns while washing clothes in water storage unit

Bantwal, Apr 11: In an incident that occurred on Friday, April 10 at Bandilu of Alike village of the taluk a man, who came to wash clothes in the water storage unit made for agricultural purpose, belonging to a private person went missing. He was found to be drowned later.

Abdul Razak (42), resident of Radukatte is the person who has gone missing since the evening of Friday. He had come to the reservoir to wash the clothes with his child. It was said that he drowned in the water when he went to fetch the cloth that got washed away in water while washing according to the statement given by the child.

Search operations started at the spot where the child of the missing man told the police that the man went missing. Team of Kashimata Pratapa, Ukkuda Harish and Suresh searched for the man but could not find. Later the operation was continued by team comprising of Kasim Goodinabali, Mohammed Goodinabali, Harris Goodinabali, Samsheer and Irshad. The body was found later.

Vittal police and fire service personnel also extended their cooperation in the search operation.
