Mangaluru, Apr 3: After blanket ban on the movement of private vehicles on the roads was enforced since Thursday, April 2 afternoon, and the police enforced the rules and took into possession several vehicles, vehicular movement in the city has become very slender.

The shops dealing in provisions and vegetables are open today from 7 am to 12 pm. However, only a few customers are seen approaching the shops for buying things they need.

There has been heavy checking of vehicles at Kulur. APMC at Baikampady is reportedly empty.

Police have increased bandobast in areas of Jeppinamogaru and Pumpwell. Intense checking of two wheelers and cars is being done. Some two wheelers were seized by the police.

The people perhaps are relaxed in the knowledge that the shops are open at regular hours on all days and therefore they need not stock up things.

With all the empty roads it is best time to do the maintenance of the infrastructure without causing any trouble to the commuters.
If corporation is wise enough to think about the public safety it could have asked the volunteers to clean the section so that the city looks smart and clean keep the pandemic threat at bay.

Who will come if atleast two wheelers are not allowd to bring vegetables etc from distant places. Senior citizens are the most sufferers as they cant walk such a long distance in some places. its too much. the dist Admn and the Police Chief consider this aspect and allow the movement of vehicles in respect of other cases indicated above.

Complete ban on d movement of private vehicles is irrational. Not aware that vehicles wl spread corona! Not many shops exist near to everyones home/apartment in which case what has to be done is not clear. Probably it wl lead to a situation like what v witnessed during d last week 3 days complete lockdown n aftermath. Instead only one person in each vehicle b allowed during d shopping period. Dont think anyone barring few will venture out just for fun sake during this critical period. Earnest request to d concerned authorities to take appropriate measures. Any law abiding citizen will definitely understand the good intention behind these actions, but will definitely lead to great inconvenience to the people especially the elderly.

because roads and public space is empty. street dogs have become more aggressive..senior citizens walking alone for necessities, pls take note...even unknown creatures / reptiles may also come out at this time...in Mumbai, group of peacocks came to town...moreover miscreants / mental people might cause mischief to senior citizens, loan women or young adults because of the situation...
