PM Modi creates fund to fight coronavirus, urges citizens to donate

New Delhi, Mar 28 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday created a micro donation fund so that citizens from any walks of life can contribute any amount they can to fight the Covid-19 outbreak that has gripped the nation.

"People from all walks of life expressed their desire to donate to India's war against Covid-19. Respecting that spirit, the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been constituted. This will go a long way in creating a healthier India," the Prime Minister tweeted.

Making an appeal to the citizens of the country, he requested for contributions to the PM-CARES Fund. "This Fund will also cater to similar distressing situations, if they occur in the times ahead. This link has all important details about the fund," he added.

Giving the mode of payments which can be used through debit or credit cards or even mobile wallets, the Prime Minister said, "The PM-CARES Fund accepts micro-donations too. It will strengthen disaster management capacities and encourage research on protecting citizens. Let us leave no stone unturned to make India healthier and more prosperous for our future generations."

One of the first respondents to the Prime Minister's initiatives was cine star Akshay Kumar. Within minutes of Modi's appeal, Kumar pledged to contribute Rs 25 crore to the PM-CARES Fund.

The coronavirus outbreak has already infected over 900 people in the country besides claiming 20 lives.

Instead of spending thousands of crores for statues & other non sense activities . if they would have used that money to build hospitals & improve health care .
central govt wouldn’t have seen this days of begging with public .
Govt is now using those hospitals which were built by previous govt,
3000 crore statues are standing idol now without any use for mankind where as citizens are running without food, waiting for some good hearted organization to feed them .

First case in India was reported in India on 30 January 2020. And when the Modi government started to take name sake preventive actions and when they took it serious all of a sudden by announcing lockdown in the 8pm in night? It was on 22 March 2020. One can imagine we had enough time before the virus could spread everywhere. We would have been so safe if the proper actions have had taken in time. India could have shown the world about our capabilities in this time of crisis. But, Now we are in a stage where we cannot have control over the consequences. Only because of irresponsible and indifferent attitude of Modi government towards the crisis of this magnitude.

Where is the 1,70,000 lakh Crores withdrawn by Modi government from Emergency fund of RBI? Is this not an emergency? Let alone the patients treatment, you don't have money to release immediately at least for the safety of health care workers and testing kits. Wah Modiji Wah. Great management of the crisis.
Why Mr. Modiji is not using the the 2,500 Crores of cash available in BJp party fund? How much the desh bhakth netas of BJp has contributed? You have money to manage toppling of state government when you fail to win in elections. You spend crores and crores to keep the netas in the resorts. Everyone knows how netas are readily available to change the parties just after election.
How much funds the Modi government has released as of now? May be less than the Kerala government released only for its state?
I remember an article because of drop in crude oil price in the international market in 2104, the Modi government had been saving about 2,00,000 Crores annually. Now the crude oil price is still lower than that. And modiji is again asking people by taking all the benefits for his government. Modi hai tho mumbling hai.
We need some more statues that can do miracles to save citizens from coronvirus and to deal the poor migrants who are walking hundreds of kilometers without food and money with babies along with them to reach their villages.
We should help the needy nearby ourselves as the first priority.

Pay tax on time to build statues of thousand of crores. Pay tax to erect high speed trains which is of no use whatsoever practically. Pay tax so that the netas increase their salaries regularly. Pay tax so that netas eat from subsidized food even after paid hefty and are getting life long free facilities. Pay tax to spend thousands of crores on religious pilgrimage pacakges. Pay tax to pay again on toll gates. Pay tax to spend on the comfort of cows when human beings and children are dying in hospitals.
Finally pay tax to save ourselves from disasters.

Looks people need accountability for GST and Income tax at this stage but why not asked from congress Era evn BJP Era as well. At once why we need to ask now. So people itself irresponsible from the beginning.
At present we should pay and should contribute the nation. Not for PM.

How has the nation prepared to handle crisis like this? Look at our migrant population left to starve and treated like cattle. Where is the spirit of nationalism?
This is the right time to question most of our political leaders amassing wealth looting the nation and depositing money in more than dozen banks and asking the public for contribution while they have not contributed anything or have done so giving peanuts.
Has the party that claims National seen the plight of the citizens? How will they respond to a crises like this? We are blind voters creating and breading criminal politicians.
