Bantwal, Mar 26: On Wednesday, March 25, unknown miscreants started to set the pasture land and adjacent platform meant for organizing 'Kenda Seve' of Kollapdavu Lord Vishnumurthy temple on fire.

The fire raged in the afternoon when sun rays were strong. The locals worked together in time to ensure that the fire did not spread to nearby houses and rubber plantation.

As soon as they received information,Vittal police personnel came along with fire brigade vehicle from BC road and succeeded in dousing the fire completely.

The locals said that mischief mongers have been starting a fire at this pasture land every year. They urged the local administration and the police to stop them from doing so. The locals promptly jumped into action to extinguish the fire in spite of the lockdown being in force because of coronavirus pandemic.
