Bantwal: Youth killed due to accidental drowning in temple pond

Bantwal, Feb 10: In a tragic accident, a youth who had visited a temple pond drowned and lost his life. The incident happened on Sunday February 9.

The victim has been identified as Sesappa Madiwala Sukesh (26), a resident of Vakkadigoli near Siddakatte in the taluk.

Sukesh used to work in for a hotel at Mangaluru. As he had holiday on Sunday, he had come to Karinja along with two of his friends. In the evening, the three friends ventured into the temple pond at Karinja. It is said that Sukesh accidentally drowned when taking bath.

Fire brigade personnel, who arrived at the spot sometime later, found the body of the youth after a search lasting several hours.

Punjalkatte police station in-charge, sub-inspector Soumya and other staff visited the spot, make inquiry, registered a case, and undertook investigation.
