Kasargod, Jan 26: Additional district sessions court of the city sentenced Rajan P Nair alias Rajan Master (54), a resident of Periyali House of Kinanoor village, to 20 years of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 25,000 for sexually harassing a nine-year-old girl student studying in fourth standard of the school in which the convict was teaching.
The verdict also says that the convict has to undergo two years of additional imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine. In addition, the court has also directed the government to pay Rs 10 lac to the minor girl student, victim in this case.
The Rajapura police station personnel had registered a case against the convict in October 2018 in which it was alleged that the convict had sexually harassed the fourth grade student in the Information Technology Smart room of the Government school of Rajapura.
