Kaup, Jan 23: A lady who was suffering from mental issues ended her life by consuming poisonous substance. This incident happened at Shankarapura Sarakarigudde within the limits of Shirva police station.
The woman who sought to end her life in this fashion was Girija Moolya (65), resident of third cross, Sarakarigudde in Kurkalu village, Katapady.
It is said that Girija was always worrying about the fact that the treatments she underwent to address her mental problems failed to cure her condition. On Wednesday morning, she consumed some poisonous substance. She was immediately admitted into the district government hospital at Udupi but her life could not be saved.
Based on a complaint made by the brother of the deceased Anand, a case of unnatural death was registered in Shirva police station.
