Mangaluru: Grand friendly meet, blood donation camp held

Mangaluru, Jan 23: Social Organisation of India, in association with BCCI UAE and Blood Helpline Karnataka (R) hosted a friendly gathering of writers and social workers on January 21 in the presence of several dignitaries at St Sebastian Jubilee Mini Hall, Mangaluru.

Screening of short film on the importance of blood and blood donation and also a handbook of 100 successful blood donation camps organised by Blood Helpline Karnataka (R) was also released in the programme.

Salam Sammi, founder, Social Organization of India, who hosted the event, greeted the guests and said, "Young writers who are on social networking sites must realise their value, and they should be more active in the field of media". He also assured support of social organisations of India to poor students who are interested to take up journalism.



Speaking at the event, Umar uh, president of the Muslim Writers' Association, said, "Muslim writers should study more on CAA, NRC and NPR and give awareness to general public.”

Writer and social activist Ismath Pajeer said that there is no revolutionary media larger than the holy Qur'an. He appealed to support and stand by those newspapers which publish truth and asked writers on social networking sites not to compromise with the value in their writings.

Saif Sultan, founder of hope foundation, inspired young writers by sharing very useful information. "If we can make good use of the writer's abilities, we can make a big difference," said Abdul Rauf, chairman of the TRF.

Imthiyaz Goltamajalu, president, United Power Empowerment Association and Siraj Ermal spoke on roles of Muslim youth in local sports and role of UEA in excelling them.

Mustafa Demmale, advisor, Blood Help Karnataka, stressed the importance of blood donation and initiative taken by blood help line Karnataka.

Sharif Abbas Alal, president of the social organization of India, unveiled the logo of the organisation. Luqman Adyar, Khalid UK, Safwan Savanur, and Ibrahim Khalil participated in a poetry concert and recited poetry. Habib Qadar, Imthiyaz SM and others were present. The programme was compered by Ashraf Arabi Kalladka.

At the end of the event, prizes were given to the teams which performed well during SWL league 2020, held on January 5 at Nehru Maidan Mangaluru. Shining Writers and Writing Tuskers collected winners and runners up trophy respectively. DJ Attackers won third trophy, team Melody Kings collected most entertaining team award. Trophy for fair play was collected by team Ink Warriors.

As a part of the programme, Blood Helpline Karnataka (R) organised, blood donation camp, where 19 people came forward to donate blood. Doctors, staff of Wenlock district hospital Mangaluru and volunteers of BHL Karnataka coordinated in collecting blood from donors.
