Mangaluru, Jan 22: “People in large numbers should be present in awareness campaign in favour of CAA at Goldfinch City, Kulur on January 27. Thousands are expected from Mangaluru alone,” said former MLC Monappa Bhandary.

“Union minister of defence Rajnath Singh will speak in detail about CAA. It will be necessary to close shops; close factories and help workers take part in the programme. More than 1.4 lac are expected to attend it. BJP had mentioned about CAA in its election manifesto and BJP won elections by more than 300 votes,” he said.

“Send former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to NIMHANS. Police personnel should be commended for effectively handling airport case. Many people would have died if the bomb had exploded. Kumaraswamy who is suspecting police is ineligible to be people’s representative. There are suspicions that Kumaraswamy had advance information of the incident. He should be sent to NIMHANS to know his mental condition. U T Khader is responsible for the death of two innocent lives in protests. How could Kumaraswamy justify the gherao at Bunder police station by protesters?” he asked.

Block former president Santhosh Rai Boliar, Mangaluru block assigned president Chandrahas Pandith House, Mohan Raj K R and Manoj Acharya were present.
