Ballari, Jan 14: Chamarajpet legislator, Zameer Ahmed Khan, who had warned of holding protest demonstration in front of the residence of the city MLA Somashekar Reddy, had to go back after reaching the city outskirts on Monday January 13.

Zameer had demanded apology from Somashekar Reddy for allegedly delivering provocative address at a meet to create awareness among the people about Citizenship Amendment Act. He had said that if Reddy fails to tender an apology, he would hold dharna in front of Reddy's residence here. Reddy in turn, had said that if Zameer comes, he would extend hospitality to him but had not apologized. As such, Zameer had come here to hold dharna as per his warning.

The police, who arrested Zameer as soon as he reached here, released him sometime later.

Zameer noted that the court had refused to grant bail to Reddy and wondered why he has not been arrested by the police so far. "The superintendent of police said that Somashekhar Reddy would be arrested soon. We will give him an additional ten days. By then, if Reddy is not arrested, we will come back with Siddaramaiah and hold protest on a large scale," he warned.
