Mangaluru: Constable on duty ordered out of temple on caste consideration

Mangaluru, Dec 5: An incident of disparaging a lady police constable and asking her to leave the temple that happened recently has attracted public outrage.

Temple priests sent the female constable out of Kadandale Subramanya temple in Moodbidri taluk just because she was a Dalit.

The lady constable was managing the crowd of devotees inside the temple. The priests in the temple got confirmation that she was a Dalit before deciding to send her out. They also reportedly insulted the constable in the presence of thousands of devotees, duly wanting to know who let her in and accusing her of defiling the sanctity of the temple.

Shashti festival was celebrated at the said temple on Monday. The temple is under the control of Mujrai department. As nearly 25,000 devotees participated in the festival, local Moodbidri station police had provided tight security for smooth celebrations.

    This poojari must realize that if the temple can be built by any Tom, Dick and Harry....then managing it also can be done by them....!!!!??? What is the contribution of this poojari and his ancestors to build this temple.....!!!!!????

    Who made the caste system?
    When God created human being he created it and named man and woman
    But we made so many religions and so many God s
    Which is not acceptable
    I remember a tragedy that took place somewhere near sasthan kundapura
    3 boys swept away by sea waves
    3 of them died they belonged to different religions
    Xian Muslim and Hindu
    Next day I read in news paper that these boys taught us a lesson we all go to one place no matter whatever religion or caste u belong to
    But for God we are his children
    Caste religion made by man

    The person who insulted the lady cop and asked her to leave must be made to leave that temple permanently. I am sure deity subramanya himself will punish this fellow for his ego centric and illiterate behaviour.

    Mujurai must take stern action on this tamasic/racist priest, who does not have any right both in front of deity and people. I know there are many such educated in people certain sects of Hinduism who still discriminate other due to varna system these ignorant people ascribe to, Its sad in 21 century these blind, meaningless practices still continue.

    Person responsible for this decision should be booked hard with the atrocity against SC/ST acts if this is true. Its because security forces irrespective of their caste and creed who work hard during our holidays that we stand safe to celebrate whatever festivals or occasions we are celebrating. Such people bring shame to our community as well. Should deport them to Re[ublic of Kailasa after their punishment to that Nithyanada's Paadha or whatever $#@# pooja,.

    ha ha ha..hard to believe that we are in the 21st century and have sent satellite on moon and also have scientists in NASA.

    No one can save this country from Manuvadis. The best answer was given by Tamilians. They just demolished the wall of Brahmins in that state.

    The priests in the temple should be suspended immediately, they can be reinstated only after they invite the constable to the temple, wash her feet and apologize. Or else they should be dismissed. The black marks on the 'so good' Hindu culture should be removed. We are neither Christians nor Muslims.
