Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 22: Congress MP Hibi Eden's wife Anna Linda Eden has irked people in social media on Monday by posting a video along with a tag line that reads, “Fate is like rape if you can’t resist it then try to enjoy it (sic).”

With strange comparison of ‘fate’ with ‘rape’ she posted it along with a wink emoji on Facebook.

Later, Anna Linda has apologized and deleted her post. On Tuesday she posted an elaborated message on the incident and said that she was replicating a comment by an actor that she heard during her school days.

"I was going through a really tough time. I was not trying to insult the gruesome state that many women had to face...I am extremely sad that such misunderstanding happened due to my post. I express my regrets," she wrote in Malayalam.

However for her post, Anna Linda faced severe criticism in twitter and other social media platforms with hashtags like ‘#SayNoToRapeJokes’ and #EndRapeJokeFilth.

A twitter user Arya Suresh said "Kerala Congress MP Hibi Eden's wife, Anna Eden's Facebook post. The caption encapsulates a sick mentality. This cannot be tolerated. This makes me extremely angry and disgusted. She's a law student. Sick!"

"As per an MP's wife the rains are nothing but fate so enjoy it.... while many are in relief camps. She compares it to rape. Wah!, said another twitterati.
