Thane, Oct 15: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, addressing a BJP rally at Mira Bhayandar, Thane, on Monday claimed that if India had Rafale sooner, IAF would have destroyed terror camps without entering Balakot, Pakistan.

"Had we possessed Rafale fighter jets we would not have required to enter Balakot and launch a strike. We could have struck at Balakot while sitting in India," Singh said.

Further, Singh stated that Rafale was meant for self-defence and not to demonstrate aggression. Defending the 'Shastra Puja,' Singh professed that he acted according to his faith.

At a ceremony in France on Tuesday, Singh formally took delivery of the first of the 36 French-made aircraft acquired by the Indian Air Force. He also took a sortie in the two-seater jet.

Reportedly, when Singh flew inside the Rafale, he asked the pilot to go at a supersonic speed. Correlating the speed of the jet with current governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh said, "Our government is progressing at supersonic speed while the Congress and the NCP are going down at supersonic speed."

Singh also took a dig at Congress for stating that the party only believed in generating communal stress and were propagators of the 'divide and rule policy.'

    So, in other words, you are proving Pakis right by implying that Balakot Airstrikes never occurred.

    Secondly, have you forgotten that our Sukhoi's are far more superior to Rafales?

    Thirdly, Why didn't YOU use our Prithvi Short-range missiles to obliterate these camps?

    Where do such characters come from?

    you can fool only a few... ! Be careful with words cause it means Sukhoi is useless which is backbone of IAF. And Sadly you do not know about Agni missile which can travel more than 5000KM ( entire PAK is covered) which means we do not need any aircraft at all ...

    Rafale was bought since india does not have any 4+ generation aircraft to beat F-16..... speak the truth

    If your still believe that Raffale would had more efficient in balakot, then why your govt hurriedly took chance to put down some trees in balakot?? (Fallen treee shown in every media but a single dead body was not shown from balakot to prove Shah's claim of 250/350/450 and 600 dead terrorists)

    Is that only done for LS election keeping in mind to divert peoples mind from other things??

    At least you guys need to take some rest without talking too much...
