Mangaluru: Jaison Sequira’s 'Chovto Sur' enthralls music lovers

Mangaluru, Sep 22: Jaison Sequeira’s fourth music concert ‘Chovto Sur’ enthralled the music lovers of the city with its unique way of presentation and quality. The concert was staged at Eric Mathias Hall, St Aloysius College (SAC) on Saturday, September 21. 

Konkani Sangh, SAC was the associated organizer of Chovto Sur. 

Chovto Sur contained bunch of youthful compositions rendered by Jaison himself and MTG winner Velita Lobo. 25 members from Konkani Sangh rendered their voices as a part of the harmony led by Denzil Pereira of Blue Angels Choir. 













Well-known drummer and percussionist Sachin Sequeira led the young musicians. Russel Rodrigues played the bass/electric/acoustic guitar, Alron Rodrigues was on the keys, Derick D’Souza played the rhythm guitar and Sharwin Fernandes was on the lead. Reuben Machado, a young multi-instrumentalist from Mangaluru, mesmerized the audience with the musical instruments of pan flute, flute, saxophone and harmonica. The lights and sounds were handled by Soundhouse. 

Fr Praveen Martis, principal, SAC graced the event as chief guest. He appreciated the efforts of Jaison and said, "With Chovto Sur, Jaison and his team have come closure to the music lovers. It is a good platform for the new talents and something new for audience. SAC always supports the aspiring talents and is ready to provide them a stage. I wish Jaison and team all success and look forward to more shows like this." 

Speaking on the occasion, Eric Ozario, Gurkar, Mandd Sobhann who attended the event as guest, said, "With Jaison Sequeira Konkani music world has got an able successor. It is only a beginning. I have full faith in him and his team and I can say that the young minds are capable of taking responsibility of making the Konkani music richer and take it to greater heights." 

Jaison himself connected with the audience with music by his poetic narration and explanation. During the show he thanked sponsors, artistes, supporters and co-organizers of the show. 

All in all Chovto Sur created a new history in Konkani music world and became a feast of original music for music lovers.
