Hassan, Sep 18: "The people have given a fitting reply to people who had chosen to backstab H D Deve Gowda in the past. We cannot go on responding their frequent utterances as it will rob us of our time and effort," said former minister H D Revanna.

Revanna was addressing a press conference convened here on Tuesday September 17. He said that no one can cause downfall of the JD(S) as long as the blessings of the people are with it. People should remember that Deve Gowda has faced all kinds of problems and still become chief minister and Prime Minister, he added.

He predicted that the plans of the national parties to decimate the JD(S) will fail miserably as it has the power to challenge both the national parties. He said he foresees doom of national parties soon. "With the specific plan to shut the JD(S) down, they snatched our party office. We have since built a good office for the party within a short period," he pointed out.

Revanna confessed that his brother, Kumaraswamy had committed some mistakes like making useless people MLA, MP, and minister. "Kumaraswamy is facing the consequences of these mistakes. As the elder brother, I advise Kumaraswamy to maintain respect, as politics is not permanent.

On the visit of Prof K S Rangappa to Deve Gowda's house, he said they are related. "I visit the house of Siddaramaiah and he comes to my home. Does that mean that he will return to our party?" he questioned the reporter, when replying to a query.
